2 x Rabbit pickups (MK1 Caddys) for sale
I have 2 Caddys for sale.
The gold/blue one has been previously registered in NSW and has been conveted to RHD.
The RHD conversion was done using parts from an aussie built early MK1. This is a US Built Rabbit Pickup.
Starts and runs, has brakes but will need to be towed away. No battery.

- GTI Brakes
- 14x6 wheels
- GTI Grill
- Hard plastic Dash (No cracks)
- LPG Conversion (Out of test but has install tag)
- 2.0L 2E motor from a MK3
- 5 Speed gear box
- electronic ignition
- No fuel tank but there's a filler neck included
- Canopy
Its rough and will need a fair bit of work to get it Road Worthy, sold as-is.
The second one is a factory black US built Rabbit Pickup and is still LHD. Not running will need to be towed.
It was imported circa 1995 and has sat in storage since, the owner started some body repairs and was accumulating parts to do a RHD conversion. The import approval paperwork is included in the sale.
This one needs a complete tear down, it had been disassembled and has only been roughly re-assembled for sale.

Its taken a hit to the nose, there's a perfect front clip off a late MK1 Cabrio that can go with it. That'll also allow converting to round headlights if you wish. I have another canopy that could be included too.
The motor is original, a 1.6L German built K-Jetronic coupled to a 4 speed gear box.
Green tinted glass in doors. No windscreen. Sliding rear window.
There's likely to be parts missing but most of the Caddy specific parts are there, the only exception being one of the tail light surrounds. Everything else is the same as Golf.
There's a heap of RHD stuff the the previous owner had accumulated to do the conversion, steering racks, loom, dashboards, firewall section, pedal boxes, struts etc, etc. None of the dashboards are usuable though.
Asking price is $25,000 for the pair. Will negotiate, will separate.
Depending what your plans are you could fix 'em both or combine the best of the 2. Can work out a deal depending on what you want included, I have other MK1 stuff available for sale as well.
Cars are located in Oakleigh, Victoria.
