    Hi there,

So, thanks to Autoglym, recently I got to try out the Vinyl & Rubber Care.
I've been very happy with the way it cleaned and conditioned plastic, rubber and even some leather parts.

It had been a while since I'd cleaned the interior trims, so there was naturally a lot of dust, scuffs and marks from daily use.
Also, some of the plastic had lost some of the sheen from having a fair amount of sun exposure.

I followed the instructions and applied the spray onto a rag first, then the rag onto the surfaces to clean and condition in one step.
This was very straightforward, with no need for a great amount of scrubbing.
Dust lifted very easily and accumulated on the rag fairly readily.
Marks also dissolved very quickly, with some stubborn marks needing only a little further rubbing.

I was impressed by how the product left a low sheen on the surface.
It was to me just the right amount of shine to renew the appearance nicely.
It wasn't too much that would then make it seem like a heavy handed detail that hints at an attempt to hide flaws.
Furthermore, nor was it so much so as to appear greasy. The result looked very natural.

The product also had a good effect on rubber, restoring the dry faded appearance (probably due to dust) to a nice dark sheen.
Similarly, it had a satisfactory effect on leather. I was somewhat attracted by its UV protection properties.
I've not come across many leather products that offer this.
However, I'd still be inclined to alternate with a specific leather cleaning & conditioning product.

I'm not the biggest fan of the citrus fragrance, mostly because I prefer the smell of a leather interior.
However, the fragrance does remind me that the interior is now clean and treated, so can perhaps be forgiven.
It may be worthwhile to just complement it with redoing the seats with leather conditioner, just for the smell.

Overall, I'm very happy with the way it has cleaned and restored my car interior.
It has even done a nice job of a couple of hard black plastic surfaces, without it appearing greasy, nor streaky.

I have not yet tried it on plastics in the engine bay. Nor on car tyres. They'll be next.
I have used it on some external black plastic pieces and it has renewed those nicely as well.

Many thanks to Autoglym for the freebie.
When the bottle runs out, I would definitely purchase another.

Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care review

    Hi All,
Autoglym were kind enough to send me a sample (full sized spray bottle) of their Vinyl and Rubber Care product.

Firstly I'd like to apologize to Autoglym for taking so long to post this review, I only got the chance yesterday to clean the car for the first time in months.

I used it on the external plastics, the rubber door seals and also on all the interior plastics, excluding the silver and clear plastics.

The product was very easy to apply with a clean microfibre cloth, and given that it is not at all viscous, a little goes a long way. It has a 'citrus' fragrance which isn't the most natural or pleasant of smells, but it appears to be there just to mask whatever smell the product would have without it, and it doesn't linger at all in the car so it wasn't a concern.

On the exterior plastics it left a nice black, semi-gloss finish without any greasiness or smears that you often see from cheaper products.

    Half and half

On the interior plastics I followed the instructions and wiped it over after application in order to leave a matt finish. I found that this wasn't all that necessary as it wasn't overly glossy. It was also effective in removing the dirty scuff marks left by little feet everywhere...

Overall I think this is definitely a high quality product. I normally use Einszett products and I would rate this Autoglym a direct competitor.
