Forty-two cars from the glory days of Bathurst revved their engines all the way from Adelaide to Remark via Phillip Island on the South Australian Aussie Muscle Car Run which took place in November.
All up, the event raised a whopping $350,000, absolutely smashing the $300,000 fundraising goal and almost doubling last year’s effort.
Aside from raising funds for a very worthy cause, the trip was also a chance for the group to experience some of the best motorsport circuits this country has to offer.
Day One: Adelaide to Naracoorte
Excitement levels were high on day two as the convoy headed to Mount Gambier for the Legends of the Lake Hill Climb where the captains of each car were given three chances to master the Mount.
Day Two: Naracoorte to Mount Gambier
Day Three: Mount Gambier to Halls Gap
Day Four: Halls Gap to Phillip Island
But day five was the moment they had all been waiting for… It was finally time to ignite the island at Phillip Island’s legendary Grand Prix Circuit – high speeds, thrills, spills and all.
Day Five: Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit
More motorsport anyone? Teams hit the Broadford Motorcycle Complex on day six for a little extra high octane fun. Drivers made sure to chuck on a real show, putting their machines through their paces on what’s known to be a pretty challenging track.
Day Six: Phillip Island to Bendigo
Day Seven: Bendigo to Renmark
Forty-two cars, seven days, 2000km, more than 100 drivers, codrivers and support crew members, $350,000 raised… Will we see you at the start line in 2017?
