What sort of white mark? Like water spots where water has dried onto the paint?

Run through your wash process quickly to give us an idea what you are doing

Probably a water mark although I do use a chamois but may sometimes miss a spot

You are better off with a waffle weave towel rather than a chamois. Keeping to the site sponsers, I'd recommend (and personally use) one of these Car Care Products / Mint / Car Accessories / Cloths & Chamois / Microfibre Drying Towel Waffle Weave Extra Large
It will dry better than a chamois, and be less likely to leave micro scratches in the process.

As far as getting rid of your water marks, somehthing like Car Care Products / P21S / Exterior / Surface Prep / Gloss Enhancing Paint Cleanser is probably a good bet.

And to avoid them in the future, it's a good idea to use a quick detailer or even spray wax when you wash your car. There are dozens of QD's out there, but I've used this zaino one in the past Car Care Products / Zaino / Exterior / Quick Detailing Sprays / Z6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray

White spots are normally bird ****e - lol

Water spots are caused by dissolved minerals in water, when water evaporates the minerals stays.
Apart from getting the water off the car ASAP,
The cheapest and easiest method is to use just ordinary vinegar.

I have a 5+ year old Charcoal colored Mazda SP23 with lots of water marks on the roof due to lack of care and sealant in the early years
Once the water marks etch deep into or through the clear coat you're a bit stuffed
I used PS21 and that didn't help with my (advanced) problem
    ScratchX helped however
2012.1 Skoda Octavia VRS DSG Wagon - Carbonio cold air intake and pipe - HPA Motorsports BBK 355mm rotors 6 pot calipers
APR Stage II ECU - APR 3" exhaust down pipe & high flow catalyst
APR/HP Roll bars - Eibach springs and Bilstien shocks
Supaloy lower control arms - Enkei 18*8 Wheels
