just get a nighbour who has water tanks and use that water. Well ask them first. if you get a high pressure squirter thingy that will clean your car quicker; thus using less water.
Has anybody heard of the Karcher cleaners? I have heard they are a good alternative for using less water. Anyone know how they work?
I have one. It's basically a box, plug your hose in, plug into mains power, turn on, squeeze trigger and out comes a flurry of 1500-something psi water.
Theres even a little soap tube so you can mix up some washing stuff, and the karcher will suck it in and shoot it at said pressure.
Personally I find it REALLY fiddly, but it does use less water and blasts off dried bird poop with ease.
One funny bit, the manual says to keep the nozzle at least 30cm away from your tires, or they'll explode![]()

Mcguires has had a Quick Detailer in a spray bottle for over ten years. I used quite a bit on my own and my then customer vehicles with great success. I just haven't had the cash for a while to get some and would be interested to see how the other products stack up. I am of to the car wash this weekend, for the first time in months, we in the ACT still have stage 3 water restrictions. I have also asked for a buffer for fathers day a Ryobi from Bunnings (I am paying for it of course) and good cut and polish using the 3M system (the polishes them selves are still good after all this time). I post some pics up when I have done it.

I've used Quick Detailer / Final Inspection for many years without noticing any deteriation in the paint work. Follow the directions.

i've always been able to do the car with one small bucket of water, rinsing with the hose on a gentle spray to conserve water... not that newcastle has any water restrictions.
