Washing/Caring for new mk6

Hi All,

A general question I know, but as this is my first brand new car, i want to make sure that I maintain it as best I can from the start. What i want to avoid is the swirl marks/scratches in the paint from washing etc if thats even possible.

What other paint damage can be avoided?

What are your product/material/method etc recommendations?

I guess this discussion could be extended to interior (leather etc) care also.

Got loads of useful information right there. I've taken most of that advice on board and its all good... Products offered there are also good value for money.

The tips on how to wash the car are alone worth their weight in gold. I was quite surprised when I washed my car for the first time using the two bucket method at just how dirty the water in the second bucket was, even after having hosed the surface dirt from the car.

I remember I saw something about FABRIC PROTECTION
(cant find link now) some sort of a spray.... Im planing to put something like that

without creating a new thread. anyone have any experience with the paintprotectiondirect.com.au thing? or any experience with the Glass Plexin coat thing?
since i am kinda lazy but i want to keep the car looking good. or is there any other place for good paint protection?

1. Read the owners manual on tips for washing and cleaning
2. Paint protection is a waste of money
