I'm open to suggestions for alternatives that won't clog up the nozzels?

I just use water. I've not yet had an issue with it. If your worried about algae growth then once it empties out mix up some alcohol solution run it through and then wash the car. The P21S washer booster is meant to be pretty friendly.

Give Sonax a go, you can buy in small bottle, to try it first. I didn't notice any difference when the original washer additive run out in our cars and I started to use the alternative (first it was Vaico brand very similar to Sonax, later I switched to Sonax since I can get it in 5L). I'm sure once you try it you will like it. It is made in Germany. I found Sonax car care products really good. My favorite is their wheel cleaner, it turns purple when it is ready to be rinsed off.

The local AutoPro has the little bottle (but not the 5L). At $3 for a little bottle (or 2 for a full water tank) it's not all that much cheaper than the VW stuff. I'm assuming the 5L is substantially less per Litre. I'm also keen on trying a new wheel cleaner since I'm yet to find one I really like.

On a side note, anyone happen to know when the low level warning light comes on in a MY10 Multivan? (ie how much is left inside at that point?)

The 5L is around $50 trade from Penrite (1:100 concentrate). The wheel cleaner is similar price for 5L and $75 for 25L.

I have no issues getting stuff in bulk and using it over time, especially when it going to go over two cars.

Anyone in Sydney able to hook me up with some trade pricing?

Another alternative might be 303 Windscreen Washer Tablets for each one, dilute in 5 litres of water and then add to your reservoir.

So 5 tablets make up at lest 25L of additive, should last a while and it is good alcohol free stuff...
