I use Swissvax Concorso and at the start of this year got onto the new quick detailer - Swissvax Nanoexpress. This is having gone from Meguiars NXT 2.0 (and having previously used Megauiars Gold Class on my previous car).

My car is not really a daily drive, always kept garaged. I tend to do a quick rinse off once every 2 weeks. You will need to consider durability and time committment issues if yours is subject to more weather than that.

In summary, I love the Swissvax product. IMHO even if you only kept your car for 3-4 years, the cost of $125 - $167 a year for the better product (Based upon $360 for concorso, $50 Nanoexpress & Other minor costs, as well as time taken to maintain it) is not a bad spend.

Application: Meguiars is definitely easier to apply and buff off. With the Swissvax you have to be really careful to apply as little as possible. There is only so much product that adheres to your paint work, the rest is wiped off when you buff the wax off. This is even after applying the cleaner fluid step as advised. Best thing to do if you want additional layers is to reapply after the first layer of wax has had time to cure.

Time: Concorso takes an absolute buttload of time. This could be me, but now having done a reapplication and knowing the amount of product, how to apply it and buff it off etc. it still takes ages compared with the Meguiars. One factor is probably because you tend to be a bit more careful when the product costs 10 times as much.

Cost: Taking the above comment into account, I think you actually use less product with the Swissvax than the Meguiars. Hand application versus pad application also allows for less wastage of product. My tub is now almost 1 year old and I still have well over 2/3 of the product left.

Durability: I don't have any more photos of Meguiars product, however see below for the Swissvax Concorso. Photos are pretty dark, but after 120 days (I noted this as first application was day before Eurospeed BBQ GTG) compared with reapplication, there is very little difference in the beading. Also, noticed at the car wash that the Swissvax was a lot better at allowing you to simply spray off any dirt collected during the interval between maintenance.

I thought I would just point out a few points on cost:

Off the Shelf Products - eg Nxt Tech Wax
    Cost about $50
    Durability about 5-7 weeks
No of applications to a medium Car about 7-8
So Best Option 8 apps x 7 weeks durability = 56 weeks 'wax protection'
    Cost per week ($50/56) = $0.89

Premium Products - eg Dodo Juice Blue Velvet
    Cost about $90
    Durability about 8-12 weeks
No of applications to a medium Car about 20-25
So Worst Option 20 apps x 8 weeks durability = 160 weeks 'wax protection'
    Cost per week ($90/160) = $0.56

So the Premium product not only offers a better look but it is 35% better value for money than the 'cheaper' product...

That would depend on what conditions you are referring to.

    1. Do you keep the car garaged every day? Both at work and at home.
    2. Is the car a daily drive?
    3. How often do you give the car a quick rinse and touch up with quick detailer?

All of the above will affect the length of a wax/sealant's durability. I'm not trying to promote the more expensive stuff over the kind that you can get from Autobarn or whereever, but from my limited research the Swissvax has lasted much longer and provided a better look for "me".

Also, by lasting 6 months, do you look at the way the water continues to bead? Are the beads round in shape suggesting more hydrophobic qualities enduring in the wax/sealant? How easy does everyday dirt and grime rinse off with a high pressure hose from the paintwork?

If you are saying that Megs works for you then continue using that product.

I just like the passionfruit smell of mine.

I mention the conditions above....i live on the coast Coffs Harbour as do all my customers and most comeback around the 6month and yes most have told me they are out in the open...Dailydrivers...and they are tutored into how they wash there cars.

I have used dodo juice and yes its good
but for me the Megs looks just as good using iva NXT 2.0 or
    the Hi tech yellow wax.

I always test the water beading action on all customers cars and i can say beading is still very
consistant, thats not sayin i wont re wax thou!

Iam very anal with prep work which has always produce results

Yes you do mention one set of conditions. You didn't state that they were for your customers. I've got nothing against NXT as that worked well for my previous car. Trying to find that mega test on detailingworld uk site (or something like that) where some guys tries out many brands on the side of his caravan. That had some interesting real world results.

And if you want to delve into the details, beading ability really only shows how much hydrophobic chemicals are left on the paint, not how much actual protection is left. So just because an old wax treatment still beads water well doesn't always mean that it is still well protected.

Some manufacturers have even started to complain about how beading ability is being over-used in comparisons between products simply because it is so easy to visually evaluate. This has led to some wax/protectant manufacturers adding more long-lasting hydrophobic components and less active protection components (to reduce the cost of ingredients).

When I wash myself with soap, I bead.

When I wash with Lynx body wash, I don't bead.

    What does that mean?
