Can get a touch up kit on eBay but I wouldn't trust myself doing it haha
Not even a month with my new Golf R and now two small chips on the bonnet.
Are paint soft on these cars? Mine is a Lapiz Blue R.
Anyone got chipped paint on the front?

I have one on the bonnet of my nine month old, Pacific Blue Golf wagon. Opti-coated, too. It's the only mark on the entire car.
One little white dot that screams at me every time I wash the car!!

simple preventative measure = keep distance from trucks / suv. dont tailgate.

I do always keep away from dangers like trucks and trade vehicles etc... My 350Z i had previously since new on had 2-3 chips during 6 years of ownership!
I guess the paint is a little soft on these. Either way I'm slowly getting over it and it is not that noticeable. Just enjoy driving the damn thing. lol
then look at it as 'wear and tear'
during my interstate trip, i kept my distance all the way but a truck decided to cut in front of me (i was on the left lane) and sprayed gravels rocks who knows what they were... i got a couple of large chips on the bonnett.. and a dent!

Possibly, but my Mazda has definitely fared a lot better on the stone chip front then either my Mk6 or Mk7 did over similar driving patterns - except the Mazda covered a lot more miles.
I think you need to treat it as wear and tear, if you're ever out on country roads you cannot avoid being near trucks at some point - you'll get sprayed overtaking them or sprayed by them if you get overtaken.

The risk of stone chips is greater today because there's just more traffic to create them — plus in most areas the roads aren't being maintained to the standard that they were even a decade ago.
Also the shape of the vehicle has a great deal to do with where the chips appear — for more than 20 years I drove a 1998 (sorry — 198 3 litre Cressida — the paintwork hardly collected a mark, but within a few years I had to replace the windscreen, which had been absolutely sandblasted.
