Sneak peek at the CCP Detailing Library

There are always things going on in the CCP office and one of the biggest projects has been some instructional video's showing 'how to' guides for various detailing steps. There is a redesign of the hints and tips section of our site underway and part of that will be a complete series of educational videos. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and in this day and age a video is the ideal way to educate.

This is your sneak peek at the fist batch of videos. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome as the videos are there for your benefit but be gentle on Mike, he hasn’t done much acting before.

I hope these serve their purpose and you guys learn a few things. They should answer a lot of the common detailing questions.

    Cheers Greg & Mike.

For someone who does not know cleaning beyond a bucket and sponge (i.e. me), this is a great guide.

    Haha no problems.

As for the video, the method is really quick and simple so there's not really any point to making one.

To clean the vinyls on the car what you need is a nice microfibre cloth and some cleaner like Autoglym Powermax3 - diluted 1:7 (not sure what else people use, because this is what I use for all of it). All you do is lightly mist the towel, and then lightly mist the part of the vinyl that you're cleaning and work/buff it over in long strokes until you're happy with the cleanliness of the vinyl. You can concentrate on smaller spots or stains too.

Of course, then if you'd like to dress the vinyl with protectant or something, just use a small amount on a sponge pad or a microfibre cloth and use long even strokes to work over an area of the vinyl.

    Hope that helps.
