    Smelly Steering Wheel ??

I need someone to tell me I am not imagining things. I used to have a Polo GTI and found that often after driving the car I would have an unpleasant odour on my hands, hard to describe but a bit like burnt butter. After replacing that car with a Golf GTI I forgot about until...I now have a Mk7 R and I have the same issue. The steering wheel smells bad, I have tried leather conditioner and other things but it make no difference, and I have to wash my hands after driving the car. I'm thinking of buying driving gloves. I know this sounds weird, but has anyone else noticed the same thing?

Diluted tea tree oil (1 part to 10 parts water). Wipe down leather, allow to dry and then condition with a quality leather cream.
    Or wear latex gloves.
