yes that is correct - only the Golf R's with the optional 19" wheels have these little plastic guard extensions front and rear. If the car is not optioned with the 19" wheels (standard rims are 18" in the same shape/style) then the car will not have the plastic extensions fitted.

As for the Tarmac mini mudflaps, i got a set of these recently. For my liking they stick out too far from the guards and ruin the lines of the car, so i drilled new mounting holes on mine to raise them up a little and pull them in a little. So now they stick out about 1.5cm from the guard, and hang down underneath the side skirt about 5cm. They most likely wont do as good of a job preventing stone chips now, but they do look a lot more discreet (basically unnoticeable).

you can buy Golf mudspats on Aliexpress & ebay for about $15-$25/set (f&R). There are 2 types - a short & long. maybe they suit what you are after?

    Drivers Side Rear/Rear Right: 5K0807834

I lost my driver side rear/rear right one (Part # 5K0807834) and ordered a new one through VW for $44. So they are not cheap.

Some random photos from the interwebs to be clear on what parts I am talking about:

    Hey Lucas_R

I ended up getting those parts u mentioned above from vw. The back ones fit fine. But the front ones dont because I got my guards rolled. I was wondering if u also had urs rolled or u had a "work around". I could screw it in. But with the edge rolled. Theres no longer a lip for those parts to hold onto... except for that adhesive tape which I dont wanna rely on..

    Any thoughts? Tips?

    Kind regards
    Jono

^ my guards are 100% stock (not rolled) so mine fit fine. You may need to use some adhesive (Sikaflex or similar) to secure your front ones.
