G'day,
I don't know if this is the most appropriate forum but it is about bodywork.
Some time during the past couple of weeks, some nut case with a long load has "centre punched" the high level brake light on my Caddy Maxi Life.
I was down in Daylesford checking out a nursing home for my elderly mother when my nephew noticed something wrong wrong with the high level brake light. It had a ridge, and on closer inspection it turns out that someone with a long load carried on roof bars has punched the light unit. Fortunately it has not damaged the surrounding panel work.
I am trying to find out how to replace the unit. It looks like it should be simple enough.
Also, anyone know where to get one other than from a dealer? So far, my searches have not led anywhere. The description does not seem to lead anywhere.
Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Im not 100% sure but I think on a caddy its sealed on the back of the door so there is no access. I think you have to pull it out from the outside. Think I remember doing one a few years ago and had to actually break it up to remove it, sounds strange but some of the spoiler brake lights are the same, you have to distroy the old unit to remove them! When you get the new one have a look at it, if there are no screws etc and just clips then just break the old one up and slip the new one in... just remember to plug it in before you install it!
