    removing roof rack sitckers with damaging the paint

    the roof rack stickers have been on for ages and it wont come off! i've tried wax and grease remover but that does nothing! its come to a point where its not even sticky any more, likes it one with the paint, what can i do to remove it with out taking the paint with it!

    you could probably use 2000 grit wet-sanding paper and lightly sand the surface down (make sure the sandpaper is soaked in water and you use water constantly!), and then polish (using an ABRAISIVE polish, not one of the filler types - that's stuff off the shelves) the surface then just wax it.

    to scared to try the sand paper thing, the thinner on a rag doesnt work. thanks guys for the ideas!

    or boiling water with a razor blade? Once softened, lift up a corner with the blade then peel away. Has worked for me with old pinstriping, badges, etc.

    Clean up any adhesive residue with Eucalyptus oil on a rag...wash hands after!

    This way there is no abrasion, and is pretty much fool proof if you use common sense.
