Hi all,

Quick question...

Can anyone with a MK5 GTi or Polo GTi please measure the diameter of each of the individual dual rear tips. Better still, pictures aswell.

Basically I want to see how they are positioned.
If they have rolled in edges.
If they are straight cut, or on an angle.
If they are side by side or slightly staggered.

I have just ordered a MK4 V6 4motion rear valance for my 02 Golf GTi and I want the tips that I select to look as close to OEM as possible.

Please help...

and your post is a bit confusing.you want the details of the mk5 muffler layout as you have ordered a rear apron off a mk4 v6 4motion. BUT WHICH CAR DO YOU WANT IT TO LOOK LIKE OEM??
do you want it to look like a mk5 gti?? that would be interesting!!

This is what I am wanting it to look like...

However I would like to know some info in relation to the Tips / not the muffler. And yes it is for a 2002 Mk4 Golf GTi as stated!

the mk5 gti / polo has a completely different layout of tips and skirt in comparison to the mk4... im lost mate...
just trying to work out what you want help with!

As there is probably not too many MK4 Golf V6 4motions in Australia. And our beloved MK4 GTi's do not have visible dual tips from the outside (rear).

I thought that maybe, just maybe a friendly MK5 GTi or Polo GTi driver might just be able to assist me with my question. And it is quite an easy question.

What is the diameter of the OEM Tips as per picture / or MK5 GTi / Polo GTi.
(As they have there dual tips exposed also)

All clear?!

Please any help would be appreciated, or I will just go down to Volkswagen tommorrow and have a measure.

Went to Highway Volkswagen this morning and found the answers...

Looked at both the MK5 GTi / GT and Polo GTi

3" / 76mm rolled / Slashed (Angled) Tips.
Slightly staggered.
