What is interesting is that one of my mates used to use that waterless car wash, problem was that when he had a repair done at the local repairer it seems it added a layer that the new paint just wouldn't stick to. In the end they had to sand back and paint a whole lot more than they were planning just to get it to blend in right.
Glass should be a little more forgiving to a good scrub, but these "protectants" seem to have some undocumented features...

Same again mate - just gotta get it off first! Another worker who didn't get it off to either save a bit of time, or because he didn't know he had to. Waterless washes usually have wax in it so you've got to strip that wax (I'm surprised he didn't use a wax and grease remover anyway - which would have stripped it) off the paintwork before applying something like paint on.
