Hi All,
Its possible I may have asked the question before, apologies in advance if I am repeating myself.

Is it ok to use a quick detailing spray after washing and drying your car even if you have had the dealership apply the "Paint Protection" ?

Will that void warranty ?

A neighbour asked if I wanted to use his quick detail spray, and I told him thanks, but its paint protected, and he said you can still use .... ?

lol warranty, isn't 'paint protection' just a detail? And a quick detailer just ads to the protection, so yea just go ahead and use it, it won't be damaging anything.

you'd be best to ask the company that did the paint protection.

I can not see any issue with detailing it with paint protection and unless told specifically that it would cause more damage than not, I'd maintain my detailing regime. Just use reputable products.

Note: i'm a paint protection sceptic so regular washing and detailing would supercede any confidence in paint protection.

Just a quick note on paint protection...

The reason it's expensive is because you're paying for their guarantee/insurance in case anything goes wrong. The stuff the guys I know use is all loaded with silicone which in my books is a no no, but they guarantee it for 10 years so you can't really say no to that lol...

Quick detailer sprays are just shine enhancers with a little bit of wax or something in them. They don't take away from the paintwork; they form another light layer on top. So there's no real reason as to how/why it would void the warranty on your paint protection.

Paint protection from dealerships is all in the fine print.

You will more than likely need to get it inspected and reapplied every 6 or 12 months at your cost.

The quick detailer wont hurt it, but if they find out you are using it and you make a claim then will use that as an excuse to not pay up

I was hoping someone in here was recommending and/or comparing QD's. I'm thinking of grabbing some Dodo Red Mist QD with my next order, but are there others out there comparable? I love the freshly waxed look and it annoys me the rate at which the freshly washed car picks up dirt, so I was hoping a good QD, with high lubricity and a little protection, would be suitable, with a MF cloth, to keep it clean every couple of days between monthly washes?

Would OCW be a better alternative, the FI fanboys rave about it, more a liquid wax than QD though?

I wouldn't be using red mist for that purpose myself. It's more to boost the potection on freshly washed cars that are finished in carnauba wax.

OCW is just a spray wax, it dosnt have any cleaners in it.

For your situation I would suggest the Duragloss Fast Clean and Shine

Mostly would be used over freshly waxed car for extra lift, but would also be used as described above. Hence the conundrum between wax/pop like product and a real QD. MAybe buy both

Is this Duragloss Fast Clean and Shine good for me to use too.
You can use this after washing, no need to wax before spraying this ?
Can use as often as desired ?
