Protecting New Paint

Hi CarCareProducts.

As I've stated before, the warranty from Opti-Coat is to protect against "dodgy application of the product from the detailer which leads to premature separation of the aftermarket clear coat from the factory clear coat". As you have quoted above it, quite obviously in my opinion, does not cover environment damage or damage from the owner during washing/maintaining the car.

But since you keep on going on about that point, can you please provide the warranty information, and links to the source, for the Nanolex or any other product that DOES cover environmental conditions and the owner using crap washing practises.

I mean, I have personally never seen a warranty which says "leave bird crap on your car for a year and we'll cover the cost of fixing the damage", but since you keep on going about this point, I'm interested in seeing what products do provide such a warranty.

i've always used and been very happy with turtle wax, and ive tried most brands, including the expensive ones that claim protection for up to a year (crap !!!!). The trick is to do it regurlarly, as soon as the body paint stops beading water, its time to do it again. id say id do it every 3-4 months, just after ive washed, and use a wet cloth to apply, and never in the sun, or if the body/paint is warm.

Well, no offense to Turtle Wax, but being that it's a very old technology (wax) that is why it only lasts for ~3 months. It is not crap at all that some products will last a year or two. It's just that they're not waxes or polymer sealants. As CarCareProducts and I have both mentioned, nano-sealants such as G|Techniq C1 (professional detailer install only) and Nanolex Nanosealant will last a minimum of 1 year without trouble - up to two years if you take care of it.

Earlier this year I put Nanolex on a brand new white Octavia RS and approx. at the same time I used Autoglym Super Resin + Extra Gloss Protection on the Tiguan and in the terms of washing and beading the water I can reliably say that after 5 months Autoglym outperforms the Nanolex. Both cars done similar km's the Octavia is parked in the garage when not in used, where the Tiguan lives under the stars. I will definitely stick with the Autoglym.

Haven't said that I'd like to try that Opti-coat.

I was pointed to this thread regarding the comments about Opti-Coat. Seem there are a lot of accusations (for lack of a better term) being thrown around, possibly by people who know very little, if anything, about the product.

I don't want this to turn into SPAM so I'll be brief as possible.

Regarding the (optional) warranty, we are quite open about its terms and conditions. It is nothing more than your standard "run-of-the-mill" warranty that you will find in this industry and we straight out tell people that when they ask.

Wash it with whatever chemicals you like. Opti-Coat doesn't care. Don't use brushes, abrasive cloths etc. You will damage it over time. Bird acids have only been tested in the shorter term (multiple weeks). If you leave it on there for months we can't guarantee what will happen.

The service isn't a reapplication of the product. It ensures that the coating is kept to the standard it should be. Bonded contamination is removed and the car is professionally cleaned. Again, the warranty is optional.

We aren't in the business of trying to provide the cheapest "paint protection" possible. Our business with you, is providing a product that is arguably the best at what it does and then maintaining it.

Any comments about the chemical properties of the product and what it actually is, or its durability well the haters can speculate all they like.

I just hope this clears up any misunderstandings about the warranty some members have purchased.
