Hi All,
I am getting a brand new black Tiguan. I have read replies from CCP saying clay and seal indoor. Poor me - I dont have a garage/car port. Would you clay and sealant a new black car outdoor? Any suggestions please.
Thanks
Yeah - I understand. I was just letting people know so they understand your position and take your advice for what it's worth.... that of a person who sells the product.
For what it's worth, I've been using GTechniq (C1, C5, I1) and Permanon for a year now...

Borrow a friends garage....
My Jetta is 2 weeks old and I'm getting it Opti-Coated by Dave in Parramatta this week. He recommended decontaminating the paint for an extra $150 to make sure fine contaminants don't get stuck in the coat. Did anyone else take this option?
He's from Reflect Effect in Parramatta, and one of the few authorised dealers that can apply Opti-Coat in Sydney. He's been mentioned numerous times in this thread. For example, search "Dave" in http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...-56642-15.html

I recently had my MK6 golf opti-coated by Reflect Effect. Nice guy, easy to deal with and amazingly knowledgable. My car was about 4 months old so I had the paint decomntamination done. Car looks more red than before and with more sparkle from the paint as well.
Don't know how much is from the paint decontamination and how much is from the opti-coat though
Gotta say I'm very impressed with the results of opticoat. Paint looks good and soo much easier to keep clean

oh yeah and the decontamination I had included the claying of the car
OK, I will be taking delivery of a new (non VW, shame on me) car soon. Its a 4wd so I am not so fussy on the shiny-ness of the paint but I would like to avoid bird poo etchings and I would like a bit of an easy cleaning job.
If I applied the Nanolex kit from CCP, will it matter greatly if I don't "clay" first? I will give it a good wash, but I don't know anything about claying and to be honest am not real keen on learning for this particular vehicle. Do I HAVE to???
