Professional Detailing/Cut & Polish in Adelaide?

Is there anyone who can highly recommend a trusted business/company in Adelaide that will do a superb cut & polish on a black car?

My brother had his dark blue Liberty done at a Barossa Valley business and his car (which he takes great pride in) came back looking like a preschooler had taken to it with a fine grain sandpaper. Horrible marks! Following this John (brother) went and got a few professional opinions from other trusted bodywork/crash repairers and took it back to get 'fixed'. After the man had 'fixed' the job - charging again for product - and still leaving swirl marks - he got rude & offensive and basically told John "Don't tell me how to do my job" with swearing included.

I wont name & shame the business here - though he deserves it, but if anyone is curious ask & ill PM them...The point of it this is; I don't want this to happen to my black golf!!

John directed me toward the pictures, after the initial Cut & Polish, then after the second 'attempt' at fixing it...

Right Rear quarter after first attempt:

    Right side after first attempt:

    After fixing attempt by detailer

Understandably he was 'annoyed' - using stronger language.
Another thought; am I better off attempting to Cut & Polish myself?
Apologies if there is already a post about detailers in Adelaide - If so i didn't look hard enough!

BTW guys, I just thought I'd chime in before the other big guns do.

    - There are ways to fix this without machines, to an extent.

    - This is usually the result of a detailer wanting to be somewhere else applying a one step cleaner/wax with a rotary buffer.

You wont fix that without a machine mate. That 1st guy bent the car over an rooted it hard!!

I dont think it was a cleaner wax, i think he has got into the farecla and a cutting pad and waved the buff round like a magic wand!

Jesus there are some shonks out there.

    LOL

He won't fix it, but he can hide it.

Personally, I'd rather hide it with a filler product than drive it around for however long looking for someone to remove the swirls.

You might just have to apply it pretty regularly.

    +1 for Dan's reply

The guy who has 'buffed' that obviously has no idea what he is doing - and I have to say that goes for most bodyshops! There is a so-called reputable bodyshop around the corner from our office and everday you see something else coming out after a repair looking like that or slightly better if they have put a 'filling' wax on to try and hide them.

If you want your paint corrected or polished properly do NOT go to a bodyshop, they do not know how to detail. Please ask for referrals for guys who know what they are doing.

The bad news is SA is about the only state that we do not know anyone in who has come recommended from a satisfied customer or we have seen any work from. Hence that is why we sell a lot of polish and machines to SA I think for the enthusiasts to do it themselves.

And as Dan says only a machine will fix what a machine has done, so you can make it look better with AIO or polishes with filling ability but after washes/time you will be back to square one.

If I were you I would be naming and shaming everywhere - and perhaps calling consumer affairs to get your money back - it is simply wrong!!!

Hmm...well a note of advice to anyone considering using a BAROSSA based business who advertise as VALET SERVICE...don't consider it and go elsewhere!

So no recommendations at all for SA based businesses?

Alternatively...carcareproducts you mention you sell a number of polishing machines towards SA...are there any enthusiasts in Adelaide who would be willing to polish my Golf for polishing consumables and carton of beer haha!? Or wine?

As much as I'd love to buy a polishing set-up and DIY it, my student budget doesn't quite stretch to a full kit yet. And I'd prob want to practice on a car or two prior to doing my own. But then on the upside i could charge my folks to do their cars haha and eventually make the cost back...

That's a shocker, I'd be devastated if that happened to my car. I'd probably feel like "buffing" the so called detailer.

    Cheers

I'd do a whole lot more than that!!
...I think his head needs a respray

Hope it works out for you mate, it looks shocking...I would definitely name and shame as well, make sure nobody you know goes to them. And also talk to the department of fair trade or whatever and make sure you get your money back or at least notify the organisation of the business's lack of service etc.
