About to pick up new car in 2 weeks .....
Hi All,

I've just joined the VW family after owning multiple Subbies over the last decade or so.

I noticed on the forum many of you detest the paint protection and I have to agree after beig burnt with wax guard on my WRX, once bitten twice shy.

But what is the go with leather and vinyl protection.
I just put a deposit on a Passat TDI and it has leather interior. I have never owned a car with leather interior and I dont know what is the go with looking after it.
The showrrom is trying to convince me to purchase "Smartkote", they told me it has lifetime warranty and stops the leather from stretching.
The stretching bit worries me as I have two baby seats that will need to be buckled down in the back.

I also contacted the detailing guy everyone recommends on here (Dan), but he no longer does home visits and he is a little to far from Sutherland. Are there any decent details down in the shire?
