Thanks everyone. Looks like paint protection for a Polo should cost between $300 - 400 and last up to three years.

Hey I just realised, that BMW, thats the same dude thats going to be doing my car, yippie, now I'm confident. That BMW looks hot BTW!
My car is getting done this Saturday! I rang him and told him about the swirls i saw, he aint surprised at all! Still, I dont think anyone should expect it in a new car!
Can't go wrong.
You will be more than happy with the results!!
Post some pics up tommy once finished
Well, my car got paint protected on Saturday and I could not be happier with the results, all those little swirly scratches are gone and the car looks flawless, it actually looks better than when I picked it up, it looks like there is a glass layer on top of it. Waiting for him to post up where he normally posts up so I can share the link!
Thanks, I probably would be regretting it if I did not go ahead.
Tommy
Coming from a detailing background myself, I personally think it is a con. The best way to protect your paint is to wash the car on a reg basis. apply a light polish once to twice a year and apply a yellow wax after polish. This helps prevents things like sap marks, bird droppings seeping into the paint, etc...
As always, different courses for different horses![]()
If your anally fussy like I am, u wash once a week regardless, car so clean it takes me literally 30min to wash and chamois dry. as always, best way is some elbow grease and some time. good products make a difference. Personally like a mix of auto glym products and u cant beat he mequirs yellow wax
I did some research on this myself and found the following post:
