    Paint damage in a carpark

I had a "hit and run" incident last week. Someone scraped my front bumper, probably trying to get out of the carpark. Fortunately only the bumper was damaged. Anyway does anyone know the best way to get this fixed? Is a bumper repaint the best way to go? How much would that normally cost and suggestions on where to have it done in Sydney? My insurance excess is $625 and a friend said I can probably get it done for less than that privately.

    It's a 4.5-month old car

Hard to tell from the photo, however I'd hit it with a clay bar to remove the white paint and then survey the damage. It may be that insignificant that you'll live with it.

If not, best to find a good panel beater to give you a quote.

I wonder what hit you? That looks very low down, almost looks like you have clipped a high gutter

As has been said, take to it with some polish and see how much comes off (and post up a pic for us to sticky beak at ). I'd say 80%+ will come out.

Ur best bet is to give a mobile bumper bar guy to do the job, they come to u and for a quote..... it would say roughly $200, it'll take em around 90 mins and ur good to go, they'll use a solvent base system which will keep there costs down and will do a blend in. when u find a company ( they're everywhere ), just tell em that ur excess is $300, i can guarantee to u that they will do it cheaper. Hope this helps ya

Thanks for the suggestions. I will contact a few mobile touch up repairers and good suggesting from Gavinski... I'll tell 'em my excess is $300 or $400

Yes I thought about the same thing but I would know if I did. There are scratches up until about 3cm below the top of the bumper. You can't see it as I've taken the white paint off. Gave up cleaning the paint around halfway as I got tired. LOL. But yes, it could be a high gutter but that woulda been a very high one!!
