Cole of questions:
Has the front bar been repainted?
Is the car washed with a pressure washer?
If it's original paint it may be worthwhile seeing if VW will cover it under warranty, because factory paint should not peel like that.
I recently washed my car and noticed that paint was chipping / peeling away right next to my front right fog light (MY11 Golf GTI) picture in link below.
I've had zero experience with fixing paint related issues. Any hints, tips or ideas on addressing this as I obviously don't want it to get worse. Would touch up paint do? If so is there a specific process to follow to ensure it's done ok?

Any help is appreciated.

It's all original paint.
Realistically, do you think they will cover it under warranty? Has anyone had peeling paint covered under warranty?

If there was damage to the paint then there is a chance the pressure washer has caused the damage, all it takes is to get a bit to close with the nozzle and you can start lifting paint. If that is the case it is damage caused by you they won't cover it.

Yeah that sounds reasonable. However I myself am not sure if the peeling is due to the the washer or not. I only noticed the paint after i washed my car but i'm not sure if it was there before the wash or not.
Regardless, hypothetically speaking if the paint issue wasn't due to the washer how could you prove or disprove that it's warranty related.
I might have to enquire with some detailing places on whats the best option to address this issue.

The only way you can get it covered under warranty is to prove that it's a manufacturing fault or damage caused by a dealership. An impossible task on both accounts.
It looks like the paint has lifted from moisture getting in underneath, your best bet is to speak to a panel beater because as long as moisture is under or getting under it will lift.

I've raised this issue with quite a few ppl i know and they've convinced me to go to the dealer. So i've booked an appointment to take it in and raise it with them

Definitely see your dealer first. I wouldn't mention that you use a pressure cleaner to wash it though.
