    Older car needs TLC?

On older cars some window surrounds are painted black over a silver metal. With years of washing this silver is exposed in part. And looks crap. I could strip it all off and leave a silver window frame, but that wouldn't suit the vehicle. Is there a way to restore this/prevent it from happening without removing the trim and re-spraying it (would need new rubbers too then)?

Of course this would never happen to a car owned from new by me, but is common in some second hand vehicles?

You would be able to get it vinyl wrapped by a sign writer in a matt black. Then you would just need to 303 the vinyl and it will continue to look new.

let me know where you get it done/how much. I might get my B-pillers done in black.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
