What the dealers charge for these extras during a purchase is a joke and provides them with a lovely cash cow - so you're doing the right thing going direct
Could anybody tell me if they have delt with this company ? Auto Glamour Premium Detailing Brisbane - Welcome. he looks like he does a very nice job, im thinking of getting paint correction/paint protection/interior protection through him.
We are buying a new vw beetle in black from brian bert vw in Mt Gravatt and trying not to get stitched up in the new sales extras.
They are also trying to sell us window tint for the two front doors as the rear of the car has privacy glass and ive been quoted to do the whole car in a metal film (rear uv film and front T25 film to match privacy glass) cheaper than what the dealer is asking for two doors.
A little bit of insight from other peoples experiences that have bought at the dealer and had the extras done later would be great.

2012.1 Skoda Octavia VRS DSG Wagon - Carbonio cold air intake and pipe - HPA Motorsports BBK 355mm rotors 6 pot calipers
APR Stage II ECU - APR 3" exhaust down pipe & high flow catalyst
APR/HP Roll bars - Eibach springs and Bilstien shocks
Supaloy lower control arms - Enkei 18*8 Wheels
Be careful using metallic for two reasons Reflectivity and phone reception.
As far as protection is concerned its does one thing well It empties your wallet and fills someone elses.
Unless you are anal about looks the cars finish should last for years. The interior protection is simply not worth the money
We have leather and I bought some good leather protector and do the seats every month or so and they look original after two years. Cost about $17 for the bottle
Had paint protection on a Patrol and it didn't look any better than my friends who didn't get sucked into paying the money.
Would never ever bother again

I'd use this guy http://www.detailevolution.com
he is mobile. I'll be getting him to do my new GTI when it turns up.

Paint Protection I was told by a Professional Panel and Paint guy that what they apply costs around $100 in a bottle and is spray on wipe off. You can do it yourself for a lot cheaper.
I've used Auto Glamour on my last two new cars. James is a great bloke and does awesome work. Lookup Auto Glamour on Facebook for some of his work.
The VE Wagon needed some paint correction and then had the Ceramic Pro applied (two coats) some 18 months ago now. Result is excellent. The car stays clean for ages, brake dust builds up much more slowly on the wheels, its a *heap* easier to wash etc.
The Golf was done about a month ago now and still looks pretty darn clean even with the rain we had before xmas and the crappy smoke/ash we've had since.
I've noted that the front wheels are also staying cleaner for much longer. I couldn't believe how much brake dust these suckers produced in the first two weeks I had the car.
All in all I would definitely recommend James for his professionalism and the level of work he produces.
I can also heartily recommend the Ceramic Pro product. I understand that the Opti-Coat product is pretty much the same.
Tinting, give SolarStyle a call. They did a great job of tinting the Golf and they do OptiCoat too so you could compare prices.
Autoglamour does great work. I have seen plenty of his work via detailing forum I'm a member off.
Ignore Hillbilly's ignorant comments on paint protection. Unlike the factory clear coat, paint protection, (whether it is wax, sealant, or coating) repels water, dirt, contaminants etc. Paint protection is a sacrificial layer that helps protect your clear coat from damage. With so many options, there is one to suit everyones needs.
Mylotain, all he is applying is a glaze, think of icing a cake to hide the imperfections, one of the most unethical practices in detailing.
08 Golf GTI - SOLD
thanks for the advice guys, It sounds like i made the right choice going with Autoglamour, he was booked out for 4 weeks so i'm locked in for mid February to have it done, I'm looking forward to having it done.
now just to do some more research on the window tinting i think
Getting my old man's Jeep done in March too. Should make it a hell of a lot easier for an old fella to keep clean and tidy.
well it was a bit of a wait but we are happy with the outcome, James came out and treated our car, it needed a minor paint correction on the bonnet and on the rear bumper, then the paint and interior protection was applied we got extra coats applied on the front area of the car.
the finish is great the reflection in the black is stunning, for anybody who is interested i would recommend James.
