New Polo, which products?

I'm going to order some detailing products this week so I can get a head start on my new car's paint before it gets ruined. The dealerships detailing seems quite good, I can't notice any swirls or scratches in the paint, and from my quick check without washing the car properly, doesn't appear to need claying yet.

I'm planning on buying the following, let me know what you think:

-Final Inspection Paint Pampering Shampoo
-Final Inspection Power Wheel Cleaner
-Optimum Car Wax
-Selection of MF cloths and a wash mitt

Does this seem like a good selection, or could my money be better spent elsewhere?

I haven't tried the products you've listed, so I can't comment on how good they are in comparison to what I'd recommend, but I have tried a fair few car washes and I like the duragloss car wash concentrate. Also for wax I don't think duragloss Aquawax can be beaten in terms of ease of use and convenience.

I'm pretty new to all this proper detailing stuff, I come from the old self-serve carwash and brush or Meguiars for the special cars

I'd suggest you test for contaminants on the paint by putting your hand inside a thin plastic bag and running it over recently cleaned paint work. If it glides smoothly your good to go with waxing, if it catches then a clay treatment might be in order. Many new cars are delivered with (invisible) contaminants.

A large waffle weave special drying towel (or two) using the "pat dry" method seems to be popular these days.

I'd also invest in two new large wash buckets (if you don't know why, google "two bucket car wash"), and I recommend the "sheet of low pressure water" method for the final rinse, it makes drying so much easier.

I haven't done a proper test for contaminants yet but I did rinse some bug and bird mess spots off the car on the weekend and checked those areas and they felt fairly smooth, but I'll check it once I wash the car properly.

Yeah going to invest in the waffle weave drying towel for sure, no more crappy old chamois' for me. I'll also grab a nice wash mitt and a couple of paintwork towels too.

And 2 buckets for sure, will try get some with sealing lids so I can take my own water to the carwash and only use the final pressure rinse there

I used to do that mate but to be honest all I do now is use the low water pressure thing. I've giot one of those multiple spray-type hoses and i use the shower setting to rinse the car first and then rinse off the wash. I just angle it down and by the time my car is done with beading the water I've got about 10% left!

High pressure isn't really needed, basically

Wish I had've seen that a little earlier, I ordered some gear from waxit, it was basically all of that stuff there but no tire dressing, and with the P21s wheel cleaner. Cost me more than that too
