    MkV Golf door handle

    Hi all,
I swapped out the lock motor in the right passenger door. The new mechanism now works well.
However when I put the door skin back on and reassembled the handle, I found that the part to the left of the handle is loose.

I can't figure out what actually holds it in place. There is a T20 screw which is accessed through the side of the door which I am thinking should hold it. But I screw it in tightly and nothing seems to grab.

Screw is accessed under this vinyl sticker.

Ok I found the issue. Had to pull the skin off again to get to the silver cam locking ring that had come out of alignment.

    OMFG this is so frustrating!!!
I've tried to put the handle assembly together about 1.5 millions times...every time I screw the recessed screw back in to rotate the locking lug, it somehow pops off and so the handle doesnt get grabbed in place...

    Anyone have any tips?

Sounds like the clip is slightly twisted or you arent holding the handle out when rotating the clip.
I have laughed many times at colleagues having the same concern when they find out 10secs of checking the clip saves many minutes of stuffing around.

Thanks for the reply. The cast piece where the locking lug sits was actually worn or broken so wasn't holding the lug in place as it rotated. Got a new one and all sorted thanks to umai naa
