Hail damage
Last week, my 07 Golf GTI was smashed by hail - I have it booked in for early feb for assessment/repair.
In your opinions/experience, what sort of hail damage would be considered "too much"? At what point will they write it off?
There are hundreds of small dents all over the roof (none larger than 12mm wide I reckon), as well as some on the rear quarters, as well as a few on each replaceable panel.
The dents cannot be seen easily, but once you get the right angle, you see hundreds of them. It is candy white.
So, how much damage is "too much"? Go on, I can take it...
EDIT - Mods, move this if it is the wrong section...

Prepare yourself for a write off.
I had an immaculate MY07 Jetta, which had very tiny dents on the bonnet, boot, and roof.
The roof the acessors said would have haD TO be replaced, because there were too many dents to be suctioned out.
Because VW bodies are fully galvanized, this would have been extremely expensive, and the car was a write off.
I begged the insurers,Allianz not to,but that was their final decision...
I now drive a lovely new Honda Accord Euro.......
