    Glue/Bond

    Hi guys,

Just wondering if you guys have experience with sticking bits of ABS plastics together. What's the best glue or solvent bond to use when it comes to joining pieces of ABS plastic together? I'm looking into something that will hold very strongly as it may well be projected to a lot of debris and some sort of force.

I have not tried going going out to look for something yet, so if someone can tell me that I can get what I want from, say, Bunnings, then off to Bunnings I go. However, if you have experience with this kind of stuff, I would like to hear about it!

    Cheers,
    Raymond.

I'm not sure, but I think glueing ABS is a PIA. Have you thought of welding?
Most of the chemical companies (Selleys, Loctite etc.) have a technical hotline where you can get advice on this sort of thing.

Welding would be the best way to do it I suppose, but I have no access to a plastic welder. I have thought about buying my own but the lack of experience of using one and the expense involved with buying equipment as well means it's out of the question.

It may be a good idea to call Selleys up! I'll give that a go and see what they say.

With the Araldite, where would I be able to find their products?

Thanks for the replies guys
