Wsa this at Fairfield Coles?
I saw them out the front showing everyone with a low/aftermarket wheel/sports exhaust car.
To be honest i would only go with stuff the guys at CCP offer as they seem very knowledgable and cost appropriate.
Hi,
Yesterday I stopped by the local Coles and there were some guys in the carpark promoting this stuff FW1 stuff. I was approcahed by a guy who took a lot of interest in my car and asked me to show him how the bags work and such, so I did, as lets be honest we all like showing off our little toys.
Anyway he then started giving me the sales pitch of this "FW1" product which I had never heard about, I wasn't interested in buying any but thought I'd hear him out. He asked if he could demonstrate on one of the windows and I agreed, and it actually seemed to work alright on the glass.
However then without asking and before I could say no he sprayed some on one of the painted panels and buffed it off. Car was pretty clean, a little dusty though, and hopefully his cloth was too but I'm not sure, havent looked in the sun for swirls yet, but if there is I'll be pissed. Hopefully it should be alright as long as his cloth was clean though.
Anyway I've tried googleling it and can't find a lot of technical details, does anyone know much about this stuff? What I'm wondering is if it is likely to have stripped off my sealant and such? I'm not interested in buying any of this stuff, just curious as to what it would have done to my Duragloss sealant and Red mist?
This is the stuff
Cheers,
Ben

Yeah fairfield Coles. I wouldn't buy it either, and have no intention too, I have a few shelves filled with good products from CCP (I detail cars as a hobby in my spare time for a little cash here and there (shameless plug: if anyone in Brisbane wants cheap detailing shoot me a pm)) and would never touch a waterless wash, may aswell was the car with steel wool, rubbing dirt into the paint will do nothing but add swirls.
Am just wondering if it stripped the 2 layers of Duragloss 601+105 and Dodo Redmist I have on the car? Thinking it probably could have so will put some more on when I next wash it, but if anyone knows some details about this stuff that would be great.

Probably stripped the Red Mist, at a guess the DG 601 + 105 will be fine, 105 is tough stuff. You'll know next time you wash.
Best use for a can of FW1 is to prop open a door.

Thanks for that. The red mist has probably worn off anyway, the car has just been sitting around for the last couple months while I was license-less.
The duragloss combination certainly is very tough. Still might put some on anyway. Certainly will see how the water beads when I wash it next, see if there's a noticeable difference

This may help (or confuse you completely).

I'd strip any LSP (inc. any FW1) off that panel and re-apply the 601 + 105.

What Panel did he put it on ben?
If it was me and it was only one panel that he applied it to, then i would give the car a wash and then very lightly give that panel a going over with the clay and re-apply the 601 and 105 to that panel again.
If your light with the clay then you shouldn't ruin all your hard work that you put into correcting the clear coat.
Then if the remainder of the car is still silky smooth i.e doesn't need to be clayed i would then re apply some of your Redmist to the whole car again.
At least by doing this then you wont be worrying if a dull spot may appear.

Thanks for the advice guys, he put it on the rear quarter panel. I think clay might be a bit overkill as the whole car was done not long ago, might hit the panel with some lime prime though which should get it off and then put on some fresh sealant
