Using the DAS6 random orbital buffer from CCP with Menzerna 2500 grit compound and the yellow pad (medium) I was able to reduce a lot of the swirl marks on my MK4 Golf. The car looks great now, so I've got a friend who owns a Honda who has asked me to help him detail his car.

His car is a 93 model so there's some very light oxidation with the paint. The colour itself hasn't really changed, it's just lost that glossy sheen. I was thinking of going with Menzerna 4000 grit compound and the same yellow pad because I've heard that Honda paint is a lot softer.

What do you guys think?

Also, is a light cut the right thing to do to restore paint that is in this condition?
