I'd advise everyone to do touchless washes, if you're game on washing at all....that dirt may be abraisive and bad, so if you touch it you could induce a hell of a lot of swirling!

If you're intent of getting rid of it now like i am, just hose it off gently or give it a karcher foam bath. Just don't touch it!

This is where a good quality wax or sealant come into play. I do a wash for a regular client this morning. Her car has Duragloss 105 on it applied about 6 months ago that is topped up with aquawax each month. All of the dust hosed off with light pressure, i didnt even need the karcher.

Ive got nanolex on mkine. Ill get a video when i rise it to show you

Good idea. so basically just rinse it off? Will do...

Also, I purchased Dodo supernatural wax and will be doing it soon. I don't have a sealant, but do you think its prudent to apply a sealant first before the wax? what about applying a sealant AFTER a wax has been done?

I added a second coat of wax to the bonnet on tuesday, should've done the whole car again.

In saying that though, the whole car was waxed about a month ago, is garaged and washed properly, so hopefully should be fine...?

I guess I'll find out on the weekend.

The dust is so fine, as long as your car isn't pig dirty it should really just wash over with a light rinse from a hose, as I have found out this morning.

I'm no expert on detailing, but I have been reading a bit about it recently.

From what I've read pretty well everyone recommends putting the sealant on before waxing (and if the car has been previously waxed you need to remove the wax before applying the sealant, see post #19 above by DMS Dan).

Feel free to correct me if I've got this wrong.

I have had my first stone chip But i think once I get over it, I'll be OK. There will be plenty more to come, and after all, its a car, made to be driven.

In any case, once I get the chip repaired, I will seal, then try out the supernatural wax and will let you know how it goes.
