    Crystalised Bird poo? (doh)

Just noticed some bird poo on my roof, i know i should have kept it clean, but it has been raining so much lately i havn't had a chance to do much about it.

Anyway, its literally crystalised, i had a go at it and its like plastic welded onto my roof, whats the best way to remove this?

your best bet would be to soak a small portion of soft microfibre cloth in a good quick detailer/ strong soap:water solution, leave the cloth on the bird poo for a few minutes, and hopefully wipe away.

if not, i'd be guessing that your next plan of attack would be clay barring it.

well, the strong soap:water mix ideally being proper car wash shampoo/soap. i wouldnt use dishwashing liquid etc.

as for the quick detailer, it's just a last step product that you'd also use when clay barring.

if you're near the city you're welcome to drop by - i've got the stuff you need.

I think the bird poop has eaten away at the clear coat..
Sorry. Too late. Is it level with the clear coat or above it?

Any chance you can post up a pic so when can have a better idea what you have to deal with?

I'd try buller scotts suggestion but make sure it's warm water as it will help soften.

If you have no luck with that i'd get a spray bottle and either mix in some carwash or some APC cleaner with some warm/hot water and mist it over the poo so it's stays on and doesn't rub off. Then grab either a soft detailing brush and after leaving it soak for a minute or so very "LIGHTLY" brush over it in one direction to minimise the chance of scratching the paint work.

If you use APC it may remove the wax on your car so if you succeed with you probably want to clay bar the whole roof and re apply wax after.

This is just how i would probably attack it,i know if it happened to me and it had effected or stained the paint at all i have a Ro polisher to hopefully correct the issue afterwards.

If you have used metho just realise you have probably removed all waxes and or sealants that are protecting the paint.

I would highly recommend clay baring the roof and re apply a wax or sealant to protect the paint.
