The car was hit on the R hand front. I am guessing there is some suspension work and panel work. I had a look under the bonnet seems ok. Am waiting for them to give me an ETA till completion. Should be fully assessed on Monday.

the car has been assessed. waiting for parts, but apparently some parts need to come from overseas. therefore at least 2-3 weeks wait to get the car, then dunno how long to get it fixed after! sigh

    hi all.

time for an update. I got my car back from glenelgs. And I brought it back the next day due to 2 issues.

    1. when the door opens, it squeaks/creaks. I took it back. They were polite, greased it up and said see how it goes. Its now been about 2 weeks and still squeaky. Not sure what they can do to fix it, but the other side definitely does not squeak. Even tho it pains me to say so, I would even give them the car back for a while for this to be sorted out.

    2. The car seems to pull to the L. Although I know its supposed to pull to the L a little, it seems a bit too much. I have an appointment with solitaire tomorrow for them to review the alignment. I wasnt sure maybe it was new parts on the R, so it was unequal, but in 2 weeks i would have expected this to improve as the parts get worn in.

I will post back again with more updates. At this stage I am a little ambivalent. I had a previous car repaired at Cafasso motors, who are a mercedes repairer who did a good job previously. Both Glenelg crash and Solitaire have been professional and polite. The only difficulty is that Glenelgs is not that close to my place.

Hope this is giving people an idea about both these places. Will post more updates as I go on.

That's a pretty good end result for a repair; I'd be happy about it (not that you're not, i'm just saying )

Those issues should be easily fixed, and I'm sure Glenegls will be willing to help you out. They sound pretty cool.

    Good luck!

    Hi all,

I took my car to solitaire's re: the alignment. They said one of the tyres had some kind of radial fault. Apparently this randomly happens to tyres. And can happen to any tyre. They couldnt do much about it, and says that it is wearing fine. However they did swap the tyres around so that the end result is that it is more straight.

After driving it now for a few weeks, it does seem to be more straight, however still not perfect. But maybe i am being picky.

Also they were good enough to have a look at the door, and said one of the retaining bolts was loose and fixed it up. So that was great. Except that it started to squeak again. Although strangely enough, these seems to only happen when the car warms up. When it is cold there is no squeak? Maybe it happens to be a heat related phenomena.

On the bright side, solitaire's rang me up about a week or so after, as a courtesy call, which was very nice of them. I told them I was still not completely happy and they said to bring it back. Excellent service.

My car also happens to be due for servicing, so i'm not sure whether I will just book it in for a service as well. Although I guess even tho it was recently repaired, doesnt mean that they would have serviced it right?
