Hi All
New to the forums here and hoping for some advice on cleaning my precious GTI.
I have let the tailpipes get a tad too dirty and am now having trouble getting them clean and like new. The grot is really caked on there and i just cant get it off.
Any suggestions for a good cleaning product that will help me get them shining again?
Thanks in advance

Cheap, Fast, Reliable. Choose two.
I use a very fine steel mesh and WD40. Works a charm.
Scirocco R - Candy White / DSG / Panoramic Roof / RNS510

Purple Metal Polish.
Great stuff.
08 Golf GTI - SOLD
I used methol on mine
Current ride: 2014 Range Rover Evoque 5 Door TD4 Pure | 9 Spd Auto | Fuji White | Black Leather | 19 inch 'Dynamic' Wheels
Previous rides: MY11.5 Golf GTI 5 door | DSG | Candy White | 18' Detriots | Bluetooth | K&N Air Filter | Dancing Dials (Oh Yeah!)
| 1989 Porsche 944S2 Coupe| Guards Red| Leather| Sunroof| LSD
I use Mothers Chrome polish, it's very effective and a little goes a long way.
Current ride - Golf R 7.5 DAP, Sunroof, Dynaudio, DSG
Mothers Chrome Polish
Purple Metal Polish (my favourite)
Flitz Polish Paste
Autosol Liquid Polish
You want to use something that is not too abrasive as you are only maintaining.
The 4 listed above is what i'd recommend. But remember they would be a "one" off purchase, something you would keep for an incredibly long time as so little is only needed always.

+1 for the mothers chrome polish. A light regular polish will keep them shiny
Purple is definitely the way to go, a lot better than Autosol
