    CQuartz Experiences?

Has anyone tried CQuartz? Seems like another product that is similar to GTechniq and Optimum offerings albeit being more affordable. I'm planning on trying this out but thought I'd like to hear from anyone that has tried this before.

apparently a type of 'nano' coat, but after reading how many times they changed partnerships as they had apparent fall outs with the original creator and scientist of the product i am curious to where its getting made as it has done its rounds apparently..

nanolex, gtechniq are proven and are genuine nano tech from the same supplier from the start.. personally i am a bit weary when products change manufacturers and names (aquartz?)

nothing is indestructible at the end of the day. gtechniq and nanolex allow you to apply 1 coat that will last a min 12 months if not more and providing you wash your car and look after it you could always stretch the recommended minimum protection it offers.

Personally a 12-18 month is best option as every 1-2 years your car needs a birthday detail to spruce it up again to remove any wash spider webbing etc. And if someone believes that the car doesnt get these than your on crack or wash your car once a year lol :p

There are better products available in Australia lasting 7 or more years without any reapplication or using any enhancement products such as ‘special car wash shampoo’ and $37 for 250ml of carwash shampoo is not cheap.

Don’t get me wrong but if you do so called ‘a birthday detail’ every 12 months how much paint is left on the car after 5 years? Personally I don’t want such dramatic treatment to be performed on my car every 12 months or so, the prevention is better than a cure. My car is three years old now with 60K on the clock, 90% of my driving is between Brisbane and Gold Coast and it has no signs of stone chips or scratches or spider webs. Am I lucky? I don’t think so, but I believe I do something right.

I would definitely like to see photos of the paint, in direct sunlight of a slr camera and not a phone camera

If you use a da machine you would take of .2-.4 of the paint. Clear is usually 12-20 microns, an average paint on a vw/audi is 100-140 microns. You do the maths. But i am sure your well aware of this yes?

Where did this shampoo thing come from? But of course, sus newbee knows but wont lead on from where he may be from :p

In all seriousness, any protection you have over the paint is much better than having nothing. Anyone who knows something about protecting your paint and wanting to have their car looking 110%, and are fastidious about their ride would take care of it.

Gtechniq, nanolex, cquartz, opticoat whoever you choose its your choice at the end of the day. Nothing is permanent at the end of the day though as much as they all claim it may be, if it was.. we'd all have it by now lol

It is not so simple as you are trying to say, isn’t it? The last thing I would recommend to Joe average to try removing scratches from the paint unless they really know what they are doing. As you know the scratches are not the same, some are just shallow some are deeper as some may be even deeper then clear coat. The last thing is to go through the clear coat.

It is called Nanolex Reactivating Shampoo and is available from Car Care Products / Nanolex / Exterior / Wash Shampoos / Reactivating Shampoo and $36.95 per 250ml plus postage is not cheap. Perhaps you know Glare and again the same story, to get their paint protection last you have to use their carwash shampoo the cost is about $25 per 250ml plus postage. Again Toughseal paint protection uses instead of carwash shampoo so called Dry Wash & Shine every 6 months. The cost is about $25 per 100ml plus postage. What is interesting not many detailers know about this ongoing maintenance, or perhaps are they trying to hide it? Then you have Xpeck, platinum paint protection and the list can go on and on. What they have common is they may save you some money at the beginning but ongoing maintenance may get very expensive and usually it cost you more then you paid for the paint protection in first place.

In all seriousness, any protection you have over the paint is much better than having nothing.
    ditto

Yes this is true, nothing is permanent. Only difference is the quality and durability of the paint protection systems offered on the Australian market. What I found many people are mislead from car dealers and also from aftermarket detailers when they purchase paint protection from them. It may be just lack of product knowledge or they are deliberately misleading to get the job. I do understand that many people rather spend $400 for the paint protection then $800. But if the same detailer offering one brand paint protection for $400 and the other brand paint protection for $800 them I would think twice before I make a decision and ask a lot of questions as you may finish with spending $750 -$1000 during next five to seven years on aftermarket products to keep your car looking good. And many people don’t want to spend so much for carwash shampoo or just inconvenience to get this product easy when they need to.

To be honest the thread is going no where and you can see your posts are slowly turning into promotional purposes for a advertising down the line somewhere.

Theres no where i noticed though from Nanolex, CQuartz, GTechniq claiming you NEED to use their Shampoo at all on any sites though. Most do state it reactivates your sealant like many other brands claim to do so. Dealerships another story clearly.

The end for me, pointless as they germans would say ... umziehen ist kein zuckerschlecken..
