    Bumper repair required

This was already on the car when I bought it and wondering if anyone knows the best way to repair it. Hard to tell what was the cause but looks to be scratched?
I'm reading some posts about blackening bumpers and products have been suggested but I thought it best to post pics. Also if these products will cover the damage as it is quite a large area. Has anyone repaired similar damage?

    Thanks for the help

sing.song, I can think up of three methods!

    1. Respray over. Most easiest, and if you sand it down a little bit and use satin black spray paint, the scratch would be hardly noticeable.

    2. Bog it. I had similar damage to my bumper too, and what I basically did was prep the surface (sanding + wax/grease remover after), then add filler. Sand a bit more, fill a bit more, sand a bit more. Resprayed over in satin black and it looked decent.

    3. Replacing the top black texture part. Recently when I did some bumper mods, I realised you could actually detach the top part. If you can try and find one in good nick from a wreckers, see if you can swap for a decent price. Can save you effort and money, but might be hard finding this part, as most won't sell without the whole bumper.
