    Brake caliper painting

Who has had this done or d.i.y?

    What were your results?

What colour did you pick (seems 80+% go with red)

I am going with bright gold on mine with black logo /fingers crossed for a good look

In my experience i got poor results with spray cans (using dedicated brake caliper paints).

Got good results with Foliatec caliper paint which you brush on and comes in a full range of colours.

Caliper spray paint works great, have done 4 cars easy. 1 can plus a clear coat...total $30 and 4 hours work.
Get decals on Ebay and tap into final coat of paint...easy.

Thanks creampuff they look good unfortunately i have been blessed with the medical condition of having 10 thumbs when it comes to mechanical issues of any sort (much extra expense in my youth to fix my stuff ups) so i pay the professional to do it now cheaper that way

    They look pretty good!

I've sprayed a couple of cars now with mixed results. The Mk3 came up very well and seemingly lasted longer, the Cab was a bit of a rush job and has flaked off over the years (probably because I didn't prep well enough). Something I keep meaning to do again. I'm interested in trying out the paint on version since it's probably a little cleaner (and easier) than having to mask everything up.

As for wheel caps, I went the other way after swapping wheels and finding that the stock bolt dust caps didn't fit anymore... chrome bolts
