Hi guys,
I posted in the Passat thread and got no responses (as per usual lol) so thought I would try to post in here which is probably the correct section to see if anyone could help me out.
The R36 bonnet copped 2 small stone chips which have gone straight through to metal. Was hoping someone may have a recommendation of a stone chip repairer in Melbourne they have used in the past??? I have attached a pic of the stone chips. Desperately trying to avoid getting the bonnet resprayed.
Also when purchasing the car I didnt get a small tin of paint for the colour. Not too sure if VW do that? I presume it wouldnt be too hard though to get my hands on the Reflex Silver for this car?

Firstly Stone chips are a pain in the arse to fix and like me you have reflex silver which is a bastard colour to touch up too...
Cant really help you on a good touch up person in melbourne but be aware they'll just use touch up paint (silver) to touch it up so it'll be visible (due to it being silver the metal flakes in the paint go to the bottom) then a bit of clear on top.
Sooo, You can pay someone to do this and still see it, though it will be sealed to the elements or pay to get it resprayed which will cost you a bit ($250 - $500). My solution was after like 50 stone chips in the bonnet of my polo was a respray then use a OEM bonnet protector sprayed the body colour from VW. This has stopped 99% of stone chips for me ( a tiny one got through, and not all the way through, so a bit of clear fixed that ) and it seems to be working so far.
Lastly you can get the touch up paint from a VW dealer, theres a small bottle of the body coloured paint and a small bottle of clear.
Hope this helped you...
