Blackening the inside of MkV GTI headlights

G'day, I saw a photo of a GTI (I think it was a Polo) and it had the area surrounding the inside of the headlights blackened. I have a Golf GTI MkV and am keen to try this. DOes anyone know how to do it?

its a big job to do as you need to remove the headlight glass which is adhered to the plastic housing. most people use heat to make it easier.

If you have xenons then you can just about forget it. As the glass is extremely difficult to get off.

A couple of questions r.e. bonnet paintwork and aftermarket headlights

Bugger. Although thanks for the advice.

I don't have xenons. Are there any aftermarket headlight replacements that you've come across that look good.

My Golf GTI is silver and I'm thinking of getting some paintwork done on the bonnet. I saw the picture of the silver Polo GTI with black paintwork (with red piping) extending from the black honeycomb grill. Any thoughts on who I can get to do this locally (Kellyville/Castle Hill, NSW)?

You could try hella lights as they do a variety of light upgrades.
alternatively you could search ebay worldwide for mk v/5 or golf headlights.

    Edit:

Took about 3 seconds on google:

I thought GTI's had this already.

I bought GTI headlights for my TDI to make them look like this - are you referring to this look?

It could only be for the Xenon headlight upgrade.
Stock lights are most likely to be silver inside.
