Is there anything to keep them shiny and resist the exhaust dirt, mine get coated in soot pretty quickly.

    When clean they look awesome.

Stick it up on blocks for a couple of years

Not much you can do, bit like brake dust on wheels, just need to clean regulary.

Try some of this Nanolex Spray Sealant

After the hard work of cleaning them, you can put a sealant on to help reduce dirt build up and they should stay cleaner for a bit longer and be much easier to clean. It will not last as long on Exhausts as other parts (it is good for paint, wheels etc) because of the heat but it will definitely help.

    WD-40 and denim rag.

    Then some cheap cut/polish.

Anything you put on there to seal it, so to speak, will bake off in no time really. However, if chrome is nice and clean it will stay clean for longer

I always find that a little bit of waxing always keeps them shiny for a little bit longer. As Dan said though heat will always be a killer here.

Sealants are usually a much better option in heated areas such as wheels...that's why wheel wax can't compare to sealants like nanolex and opti seal. I'd go for a sealant on the tips, and for the sake of them being cleaner I'd wipe them down every time I wash the car, and spray more sealant on!
