Best tape for skirts

Hey fellas. I'm having some issues with the votex side skirts I have. They look brilliant when the tapes not failing.

Has anyone had any experience with good tape to use for skirts?
I know I could use an adhesive but I want to avoid that while I can.

I've tried the 3m grey double sides tape which I've used before and found awesome and I've also used some automotive double sides tape which really didn't work well and also another brand of tape which apparently can hold 30lbs.. Yeh right..

Cleaned and prepped everything well too..
Also - the votex skirts don't have a bracket like the gti/gli skirts so that's not an option either.

Any suggestions?

It sounds like you are doing everything right...

Prep with Prepsol / Wax & Grease remover etc.
Wait over night at least for best result.

Apply tape (I always use the 3M outdoor tape as you mentioned, but try using a hairdryer / heat gun to warm both surfaces and the tape for better adhesion...

Other than that, not sure...

Use one of the industrial strength ones from here:

Double Sided Adhesive Tape

Warning, you will destroy paint & sideskirts when trying to remove them - this stuff is next to permanent & is up there with straight Sikaflex 221.
