Ben J (Forum Member) Detailing Recommendation.

    Hi Guys,

Don't know if this is the right place to do it but I thought I give a shout out to Ben J here on the forums. He did an absolutely fantastic job on my Golf VR6 whose paint had seen better days. The roof looked like it hadnt been polished for 10 years and a clean and my own crappy cut and polish from supercheap didnt make a difference.

Ben came over the other day and dide a full 5 stage cut and polish on the car and it came up beautifully. Still has some clearcoat issues and you can never make an average respray job perfect but it looks amazing and from a distance you would say it just rolled off the factory floor.

He does it at an EXTREMELY reasonable price compared to the $300 or $400 I have been quoted for the same job by other blokes and would Highly recommend his services

Check out his facebook. He does the Brisbane area and will correct me if I'm wrong but will do Toowoomba if he is up in the area.

I considered giving it a go myself as I like to save money but for the price he charges it was going to cost me more to do it myself!

If this is the wrong place to post this please move it.

    Cheers,
    Max

Thanks for that, I do try and do a good job. Probably belongs in the recommended repairs section or something but a mod can fix it if need be.

I should say that I'm by no means a trained professional, and although I have done a lot of cars this is just a hobby of mine I do for a bit of cash on the side of uni. But yeah, feel free to check out the facebook page and send me a message or give me a call if anyone in Brisbane wants a detail done for cheap. Now that uni is going back I won't have as much spare time so won't be able to do as many through the semester, but still, can't hurt to get in contact with me

Depends on what is wanted/needed to be done. I've removed prices from this thread as I'm not a forum sponsor or anything and don't want to be stealing peoples business. Feel free to send me a message though and I can work out a price for whatever you would like done.

Sounds fair, curious to what products you use overall say for a 2 or 3 stage polish etc .. what is the process out of curiosity?
    What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

The majority of car's I have done have been european cars with quite hard paint, normally older ones which have a lot of heavy swirls/oxidation etc, the process I generally go through for such a car is:
    - A good wash with one of various wash shampoos, sometimes followed with a second clean with an APC.
    - Clay with Dodo grey clay and dodo born slippy lube, another rinse and then dry.
    - Plastic trims etc are then masked and I get out the halogen lights and see exactly what I'm dealing with.
    - First I do half a panel first with Menz PF2500 to gauge much of a cut it is going to need, generally if it's bad I have to start with Menz FG500 on a surbuf cutting pad, followed with Menz PF2500 on a much less agressive pad, this is sometimes then followed with Menz SF4000 on a finishing pad, and then Lime prime/Supernatural Micro Prime on an even finer finishing pad. I'm just using a Mint R/O polisher.
    - Either sealant or wax is then put on depending on what the customer is after, I use Duragloss 601 + 105 sealant combo or DoDo Juice Supernatural wax.

I buy practically everything detailing related from CCP, love the service I always get from you guys!
