just bumping with a few updates:

Albury council want to meet with me regarding dates and locations, at this stage they seem as keen as me to push this, so once a location and date is finalised I will update you with the progress and hopefully we'll see a full thread up soon!

I will be pushing as hard as physically possible for the central town square location because in theory this would give exhibitors more publicity than a metro location, it's in the heart of the town

TOWN SQUARE LOCATION SECURE! There's room for 100+ cars and it's almost completely flat entry, so low car friendly.

Now I just need some dates - One weekend I'm considering is the queens birthday weekend which is June 8-11th? With the show on the Sunday. The reason this suits so well is there is a huge Winery Festival on in nearby Rutherglen (20 mins drive) which attracts maybe 40,000? $25 for unlimited wine tasting at maybe 20 different vineyards? All weekend - so great for a day/night out.

It's also off-peak season for Motels - they're packed in the summer for tourists that use the Lake, but in Winter we'll get great rates on accomodation.

Albury can be cold in winter, but it can also be high teens/low twenties too - I think most would prefer this to boiling in the sun. As far as clashes go, I know Nats is only a few weeks prior, however I think that'll mean most will still be in the mood for another show, with a massive change of scenery and a huge itinery of cruise routes, photoshoot locations and night life!

meeting with the key potential sponsor tomorrow! then I'll be able to budget for insurance + trophies as well as raffle prizes.

I know it's cliche but I'm also going to get a charity on board, not only because I believe in the cause, but that also draws a local crowd and hopefully will get a few gold coin donations. Any money made from entries and raffle sales will go to charity also

I'm also aiming for some different categories for prizes including, but not limited to "built not bought" "newcomer" and "illest" - so some out there prizes as well as the traditional "best mk1" "best mk2" etc
