always keen, if not working.
I'm thinking north again next cruise and maybe south later in the year. Lions rd is under repair until June or so apparently so south run might be Gold Coast hinterland to murwillumbah and perhaps up to kyogle from there. Be good to have return option via Lions rd. It's a great drive that run!
For this coming one, there are fantastic roads around palm woods and ilkley that would enable bellthorpe range road.

Hi LibraR. I met you and your son at Toowong yesterday (Kia). I am definitely keen to come along on the next drive. I'll keep an eye on this thread. Thanks for the heads up about this forum/thread.
All good Gravs,
Good chatting yesterday. I am planning for another run in a couple of weeks. Date TBA, but we did a recce run last week (impromptu) to check the end destination is suitable for a group for lunch. It is! Some great roads along the way, so TBA.
Cheers
Hey guys, weather is bordering on spectacular at present, so I thought it might be time for another cruise. Planning on a slightly longer run this time that includes a definite lunch stop, so we can sit around and chat a little before heading back. Plan (subject to review after feedback from everyone) is as follows:
1. Meet up at the Northside somewhere, probably Samford Tennis Centre, as that worked well last time. Say about 8:30am meet for a 9:00am sharp departure.
2. Head to Mt Mee via Dayboro, stopping at Woodford for a coffee stop at the bakery. Always a great spot for a snack and a brew...
3. Then we will head through to Maleny via some of our favourite treks with twisty roads assured.
4. From there, we will continue on to Kenilworth via some great sweeping and curvy roads. Maybe a quick stop there for photos and a stretch of the legs. Can get busy there on week ends this time of year (caravan city there at present), so maybe not a great spot for refreshments. maybe just a quick break to regroup etc...
5. From Kenilworth, some truly interesting roads to our lunch destination of Imbil, where the pub has capacity to feed and water reasonable sized groups. I will probably need to give them an indication of numbers and get us a booking to avoid long delays in getting meals.
6. After lunch, we can make a quick detour down to the local Borumba dam, which has a pretty nice little camping area (which will also likely be pretty full this time of year), and maybe some pics in a setting of green grass, water, and background hills.
7. I am open to return journey options, as there are lots to choose from there, including some great paths through Obi Obi, or through the back of Palmwoods and the like, or via the same path as the journey out. Alternatively, we could go directly back to the Coast, and return via the motorway for those that love their cruise control (or maybe weekend traffic).
As for a day for this drive, I am thinking Sunday 7th May so as to not interfere with Mother's Day the following week end. It's a little under 400km round trip from Samford if we include the detour out to the Dam, so should be OK on a single tank of fuel if everyone is full at the start.
There are a couple of turn-offs along the way, so I'm thinking a few stops to get everyone in the queue, and to ensure nobody misses any turns, and we should be good.
Should be a fun day, with similar flavour to the last one, which I think went pretty well by and large. Please feel free to offer improvement suggestions or feedback on this plan, so over to everyone...
Def keen for this, missed last one as was out of the Country.
Excellent. It should be fun!
