Great to hear about the event. Shame we cant join in but I think and hope we can maybe watch from the bridge if its interesting enough. Should be able to see the whole racetrack.

My cars in bits now too. Prepping it for the G60 finally. I still havent found the courage for the exhaust clamps. Everything else is nearly ready to pull out.
    Cheers.

To get into Sandown on the sunday, go through the instuctional training, lunch and rides in thee demo cars costs $95. For that you can't participate in the events. You must ring Murcotts though to book or enquire ASAP
By the way, there is a barbecue at Volkspower at 2pm on saturday arvo for their customers and APR people. Bound to be a lot of new GTIs there including Polos. Be worth a look if you are interested. Might pay to ring them first too. Cheers

What time do you reckon you'll be @ Volkspower on Sat. Andrew?
I've got to go out to GasResearch in Dandenong late morning & I'll stop by on the way back.

2pm ish for the barby. The flares are in the car ready. Be good to catch up. I'll try and take you for a run in the GTI then. Sat night might be a bit busy with our Gokart drive. The whole weekend is a bit rushed for me. Float in around 7am, go wheel hunting in the morning, book into the motel, bbq in the arvo, gokarts that night. Sandown 8.15-4.30 sunday, pssd sunday night, then run around some suppliers Monday. Back on the boat Monday night, 3 hour drive back to Hobart, straight to my head machiners, pick up some T3 heads and reassemble Tuesday arvo! I needed another 10 days over there.See how things go this time as to whether I get back across again real soon.
Looking forward to catching up with you guys though, it will be fun. Busiest weekend for me since I used to compete!!

Had a great weekend, thanks to the hospitality of you Melbournions. The GTI day was great. Did a fair few things in the cars that hopefully we will never have to do in real life. Extreme emergency stops and manouvering. It sure how safe these cars are with drivers aids. My Golf was taken over by a professional to take people for very quick laps of the circuit. Sometimes 4 up. It came through unscathed. Still got the blue discs at the moment. They drove it till there was next to no fuel left. GTIGRL did a couple of quick laps in the Polo as well. Great track. I think my Golf did around 30 laps. I wasn't counting, tried not to watch and listen though the exhaust did sound nice down the straight at approx 190/200km/h
