How far was the trip? and what were the roads like?
hey Dylan, it was a bit over 150km .. and I think there may have been 2, possibly 3, roads that were straight and long enough to allow us to change out of 3rd gear : )) As for road conditions, very good.
personally I wouldn't want to do that route on a bike, but in a dub it was brilliant, and even more so in one with AWD hehehe.

only got my APR tune a couple of weeks ago and with suburban driving I didn't notice it a great deal, but since the drive on the weekend it's obviously adapted somewhat and the R has turned into a monster! ; )

I'll be up for the cruise for sure .... the car gets here on the ship on the 26th August (anyone know how long it takes from ship to delivery????) so if I have it I'll hopefully get there !!!!!!! Can't wait
Previously - 2006 Jetta TDI
Currently - 2010 Golf TSI Wagon
Currently - 2010 XR5 Focus
Sounds good if I'm available. I might bring the Evo along, would probably suit that drive more than the R36. I know its not euro but at least it'll give the Golf boys some tail lights to look at along the way

sounds great! I'm game for the 4sept at this stage! would be nice to get the vr out on the open roads. Start stop traffic drives me bananas
