Well I have a 4 day old roadworthy and funky fresh rego on the mk3 so can't see how it doesn't fit the criteria. As long as noone jumps on the brakes in front of me and we should be sweet

Unfortunately the happy laps session for Sunday has already had numbers confirmed and been booked and paid for with Lakeside.
We have made the decision on the type of driveline allowed to attend due to the number of issues we have had in previous events hosted by VWWatercooled.
Given that historically only RWD vehicles have gone off track (Silvia, Lotus, BMW, BMW); and at the last event Doug expressed a strong concern about the conduct of the BMW drivers on track and suggested that if we want the event to continue that we restrict these types of cars from attending, the call was made to limit attendance to FWD and AWD only.
There are a number of other happy laps events that you could attend in the E30 such as downshiftaus and the BMW club happy laps sessions.
Could name many more than 4 people/cars that have gone off that aren't rwd (could also call out one of the other organisers who cleaned up a cone the same session I was pulled off and told not to bring my black back after grazing a cone, funny how noone said anything) but I realise there's no point.
So that's fine may I go on reserves for next time - Red 1995 FWD Volkswagen Golf VR6 Colour Concept, rego 155 WCC
That surprises me a lot, I've definitely seen a few at vwwatercooled happy laps while I've been there. Guess noone makes a big deal about it unless the perpetrator is under 25 in a car that isn't a <10 year old VW.
But thanks Clay at you're much more reasonable than some in here. See you at the next one!

Clay is the only one who has to be reasonable because he's calling the shots. The rest of us can say whatever we want. Clay's also very diplomatic and polite. If it were my gig, I would've told you where to go. No offence, but what I've read from you is just a lot of ****-stirring. The world's not against you, mate; they just don't want RWD cars at happy laps.

i don’t think this is the right place for this topic, may be start another thread debating fwd vs rwd etc...
lets try and remember this is a thread for those interested in participating in the happy laps social event and that others involved in organising the event also read this forum. i suggest we keep it to the point and move on from this discussion...
Agreed I'm not here to argue. Just keen to do some laps. If you get a spare spot this weekend I'll be there otherwise you all at the next one <3
