Wow. That is very impressive footage. What a difference compared to my 80$ drone. How does it remain so stable? It's like there was no wind. I have to constantly trim my drone to fight the wind. Any hint as to what the equipment was?

Thanks for that. Amazing. So was the stability thanks to the computer or operator?

They can be programmed so they can be stabilised in the air regardless of wind changes etc (hovering). Each motor will individually change prop speeds accordingly to what's needed to maintain position that has been set. You can also set GPS home return so essentially they can fly themselves back to a particular spot on the ground you have preset before take off, which is mainly as a fail safe if radio transmission is lost etc otherwise the drone will likely continue doing whatever it was last doing before loosing signal (which is dangerous if it was full throttle upwards or to a particular direction).

Theyre a lot more technical and in depth then most people would assume

Im assuming the pilot of this quad was using FPV goggles?

You weren't over took in the corner, so don't be a tool and floor it when you are being over taken in the straight or before the first right turn.

Thanks to everyone else for being awesome, was awesome fun as usual.
Ones that overtook when I backed off in the straight and back section, you were courteous and loved seeing your skill set.

Look forward to seeing the rest of you again.

Overtaking on the main straight should be completed before the Kink. If you're beside or behind a car going through the kink, it's safer not to overtake, unless the car in front makes it obvious and slows right down. Typically, a driver will accelerate on the short straight section following the Kink.

I don't know exactly what happened, but if two cars come together, the overtaking car is always in the wrong. Which is why if there's ever any doubt that the car in front sees you or is going to let you overtake or if you're about to enter a corner, you don't do it. Wait another lap, wait for the courtesy, then do it. Don't take what you might feel you're entitled to.

gotta listen to this guy Pav (beingaware), he's done 60.8057s at Lakeside

he'll listen to you if you can beat his laptime at Lakeside :p

it should be eeeaasy with a mk7 R that is 100kg+ lighter and more powerful too even with Stg 1 tune compared to a mk6 R with Stg2..

on race tracks, that's how we settle disagreements before having some beers

Don't listen to Nat, my lap time doesn't matter
I've been saying this stuff since I was doing 67's.

Anyway, my post wasn't directed squarely at Pav.
It's a general comment to everyone. Play it safe.

    lol too humble my friend

but yeah, the section after the kink is not generally an acceptable place to overtake unless the car in front has given a signal.

it is also a matter of courtesy to other drivers too.

in my all of my Happy Lap clips, i only overtook cars that gave me signal to overtake right after the last turn. i often give way to others too (for courtesy and to cool down and maintain plenty of gaps) so we can all have fun

the right events to go all out are QR Sprint, TimeAttack QLD, Paul Stokell Track Days, BMW Club QLD Track Days, etc.. i still do happy laps just for fun, meeting people and practice the racing lines in a much slower and relaxing pace.

Thanks for the great morning. My son and I really enjoy it. Only problem now is my daughter is pushing for his spot! I had fun trying a few quicker laps for a while and then taking it easier, especially when the tyres got a bit greasy. Hope I behaved properly. Don't hesitate to call me out if I am doing something wrong. Hate to ruin anyone's else's enjoyment
